Ever since most leaders in South American Countries have refused to join IMF, Kicked all American agencies and influences, The have been Prospering, growing, uniting with Latin Nations and Countries.
What is amazing is the majority of the leaders voted into office have been from the common folks and not the "upper-Class" wealthy to represent them like the United States. The people know that you have to put people from the common fold and not the rich and elite that never do anything for the lower classes than their own. So it seems the South American People are much brighter than the American voters. They have learned from their own experiences and seeing the failing of Americans picking the wealthiest "upper-class" to lead their country.

Historically, from 1947 until 2011 the United States' average quarterly GDP Growth was 3.28 percent reaching an historical high of 17.20 percent in March of 1950 and a record low of -10.40 percent in March of 1958. The economy of the United States is the largest in the world. The United States is a market-oriented economy where private individuals and business firms make most of the decisions. The federal and state governments buy needed goods and services predominantly in the private marketplace
